Malted chocolate chip cookies

Malted chocolate chip cookies: a new way to enjoy your cookies is to add malted milk powder to your cooke dough! đŸȘ

Malted chocolate chip cookies

Yield 9 medium sized cookies

1 stick or 4 oz softened butter

1 each egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

1/3 cup/ 80g brown sugar

1/2 cup/ 120g granulated sugar

1 tsp kisher salt

1/4 cup/ about 40g malted milk powder

1 cup plus 2 Tbs/ 170g AP flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chunk or chips

1/2 cup milk chocolate chip

Plus more to top off the cookies

Malted milk powder can be found at Walmart or target, some grocery stores carry it. There are many different brands to choose from but this is the brand I use, it can be found on Amazon as well.

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl combine brown sugar, granulated sugar and butter, whisk to combine. The mixture does not need to be creamy and fluffy *mixing too much air will make the cookie spread too much

  2. Whisk in eggs and vanilla extract, then add in the malted milk powder and whisk to combine. It is normal if there are a few small chunks remain

  3. Add in AP flour, salt and baking soda

  4. Stir in both semi sweet and milk chocolate chips,

  5. Portion the cookie with an ice cream scoop, chill the dough in freezer for at least one hour to two hours before baking, overnight is preferred

  6. Sprinkle the cookie dough with some sea salt and bake at 350F for about 12 minutes rotating the sheet tray half way
